Working at Best Buy has taught me a lot about what it takes to make and maintain a relevant and recognizable brand. I’ve followed strict brand standards over the last 7 years and have also been apart of creating them through rebranding, twice! I pride myself in my ability to follow any brand’s standards whether that be a retail company or construction.

This background knowledge is what makes me the perfect fit for your branding needs, because not only do I know the design, I know the strategy. Read a little about the process in getting started and check out my recent brand work below.

Tell me about You

Learning a little bit about you helps me make your brand as unique as you are. Let’s figure out your vision together. I know it can be daunting at first, but I’ll ask you the right questions to get you where you want to be!

The NittyGritty

Let’s figure out your hopes and dreams for your brand. Who do you want your audience to be? Where will you show up? Anything you admire/dislike about your competitors? How can we set your brand apart from the rest?

Brooks&Blooms is a floral and event planning business owned by, Alex Germaine. I helped Alex with branding her business from the ground up, starting with the name. I had an epiphany moment when I thought of her son, Brooks followed by “bloom.” Who doesn’t love an alliteration?

Next, we worked on the logo. I knew I wanted to incorporate florals without being too on-the-nose. The type had to be the perfect amount of whimsy meets elegance. I also wanted something that could serve as a secondary branding element for her, which is exactly where we ended up!

RECENT BRAND WORK

The Logo —

The connected ligatures on this type flow so nicely together and I love how the “l” in “blooms” fits perfectly under the “o” in “brooks.” The flowers in the ampersand make it the perfect secondary brand element.

I started Alex’s business cards with modern in mind. I wanted to find a way to explain her services without cluttering the small business card surface and thus, the lettermark was born! This element can now be used anywhere and everywhere, Brooks&Blooms.

The Business cards —

Working on a website feels like working on a puzzle to me. At this point, we had all our branding elements and now it was a matter of figuring out how they all fit together! I even wrote a good amount of copy on this one.
